We are going to Migrate files from a NW 4.11 server to and NT server. Options would be across the wire copy or tape restore. With Arcserve 6.1 for Netware, I understand we would have to disable the SMS backup function, disable file compression on the Netware volume (which has long file names enabled) then back up to tape.
Merge the tape to the NT server ArcServe database and then pick and choose directories or files to restore to NT. I understand their will be issues of the long filenames being intact once they are restored to my NT server. Has anyone been successfull on doing this while keeping your files in tact between the two server operating system. Also, any tips would be appreciated.
