    Netware 5.1 and workstation time

    Locked

    by sylviam ·

I am trying to use systime from 3.12 with Netware 5.1 and it doesn’t load correctly from the login script. I need my workstations to have the same time as the server. Is there any other way to do this or can you suggest a way to make systime work?

What I use is Net time \\server /set /y You may have to grapple with user rights as only Administrators can change the system time by default.

There is also a Timeserv command but I have not perfected that.

You can set an advanced option in the Novell client software to automatically Sync the time with the server whenever it logs in. Look under properties/advanced options for the Novell client. You may need to install a newer client, although I thought this was a default setting in all the clients.

      Hi,
if you’re using the client delivered with NW5.1 (3.2 or 3.21) go to the client properties-advanced settings-parameter group “environment, next compatibility”.
There select the option “Set Station Time”. Set it “ON”. That’s it.
