NetWare Client & Windows 2000

By McIntyreM ·
I have a new computer that has Windows 2000 installed on it. Our network has Novell NetWare for Small Business 5. How do I install the NetWare client on this computer? The CD for client has an option for installing the client on Windows 95/98 or an option for installing it on Windows NT. I tried installing the Windows NT version, but I got a shell error. It won't allow me to install the Windows 95/98 version. Does anyone have some advice?

You may have a bit of an old client. Check http://support.novell.com/redir/localwww/download/#Clients - the latest version is 4.81, and does support W2000.

To Volovoy: You can do that with any Windows version. Unless you want full functionality. Just try to launch NetWare Administrator with Microsoft's client.

I do not have an e-Login. I have found that the client provided by W2K is suffient for the purposes of this computer.

Thank you for your advice. I happened to find the MS client for NetWare before I read your message. It suits the purposes of this computer.
