Netware Security Message

User receives following error when logging into Novell Server. Your account is disabled or has expired! Contact you System Administrator.
The account is not disabled and has not expired.
This is a intermitten problem with one users machine. Any suggestions as to why this error occurs.

You didn't mention whether you had NetWare & Windows logon?? This creates a whole new aspect to logging in. We will assume for now NetWare only.
Are they locked out for: "Intruder Lockout"?
right mouse on user in nwadmn32 and select "Details". Scroll down to "Intruder Lockout" Button on the right and make sure the box isn't checked.
Normal lockout occurs when users try to guess their password more than three times, and stays locked out for 24 hours or more.
It could also be a licensing issue, not enough licenses or in the wrong place. What version of NetWare? NW6 is entirely different than 4x & 5x.

I experienced this with a user a few months ago. At that time, we were using Netware 5, 4.81 client, and Windows 2000. Re-installing the client did not fix the problem. Deleting the profile at the workstation and having the user re-establish a new one did.
