NetWatch error 2461

By andersonrog ·
This error occured upon attempting to disconnect an unwelcome visitor. I successfully disconnected this same visitor in prior visits including within the immediate 2 minutes prior to this attempt. Assuminig this was someone with administrator priviledges, could he/she edit my Netwatch control to prevent me from breaking the connection?

No,this person cannot break the connection and it is obvious you are concerned about security.
This IPC or interprocess communications mechanism is part of most protocol stacks
It opens a name pipe socket for communications between server modes.Ifboth are running the server service for workgroup connectivity, this is normal.
If you browse the network, even your NT servers will be opening a IPC$.

Clarification please. This is a Windows 98 system that does not have Remote Administration enabled. However, now and then I check and find to my surprise, Remote Administration enabled! What is happening to enable this when I know for a fact thatI have disabled it and immediately executed a shutdown and cold boot?
