Question

Network access is not allowed to one server

By coatso ·
Dear Community,

My company use around 700 desktops and laptops on a domain. our file server has a home share drive that the AD links to and then maps when a user logs onto any machine when using their domain account. my problem when I log onto my normal laptop it says network name is no longer available. when I log onto another machine it connects and maps normally. all other servers UNC name works normally. I can ping it by DNS and IP and can RDP to it but not see any shares.
Please can you help?

Network access response

by wmanigault In reply to Network access is not all ...

This message "network name is no longer available" sounds like a connection issue with the laptop. Is the laptop in the Domain or not? Are you connecting using wireless or direct connection? After you logon and get connected can you map a drive to the share in question?
