I have a server that has two nic’s inside, one is for basically connecting to the network, and the other one is for network monitoring on a mirror port on a switch. The problem is that when I try to manage diferent programs on this server, the monitoring nic ip address is the one it always connect to. Even if I type type in the other ip address it always swich back to monitoring nic ip address. The only way i can get the programs to recognize the other nic that connects to the network is when I disable the monitoring nic on the server, I lose connections all the time because its going to that ip address, that port is very busy, thats why I want the other one to be the primary nic. I have a windows 2000 server any help would be appreciated.
