Network Administrator or ISC?

By jmiller ·
My job title is Information Systems Coordinator. I am the only person of 135 employees that is in the IS department. I am in-charge of anything and everything computer related in the plant. We have a NT & Unix server. I'm trying to convince myself that this is not the correct title. Or is it better than what I think it is? I've been working at this job for over a year now and I'm not sure wether I'm being paid properly. I'm not terribly new to the field I have been in it for over 3 years now. The only problem is I am young. I have the qualifications, I have the certificates, and I do my job very well. But I am only making 25k a year. To me this seems very wrong, My question is. How do I fix it? Can I fix it. What would someone do in my situation?

I hate to tell you this, but you are getting the shaft BIG TIME. 25K for the size company that you work for is pretty low. Most companies that have one IT person tend to spend their money on equipment not on personnel. Most LAN Admin/Network Admin positions START at 30-35K with little or no experience. It's up to you but, I would ask for more money or take my experience and certs and get another job. Good luck
