Network Browsing

We have some very curious users who like to experiment the Network Neighbourhood.
1. How can you hide it from them thro' their profiles?
2. There are two laptops that can't see other computers in the network although they are connected and functioning OK? How do you disable it. The laptops has Windows 95.

There is an option in poledit that will allow you to hide the network neighborhood. If you're running group policies on your network, you'll have to make this change in the public directory where the policies reside.

As with answer 1 you can use the policy editor to limit your users access to anything you want to, If you have not used Poledit before make use of the sample files before hand because you can completely limit your own access if you are not careful!.Also you can make the network browser unavailable at a machine by disabling the Browse master and LM Announce in network properties. Both are properties of the Microsoft Client. Also you can stop browsing globally by setting the master browser parameter to false on any NT servers you have (The downside of this is that network access could slow as machines have to be searched for on each access)
