Network Browsing Problem

I have a computer on the network that can browse the internet through a shared connection but as soon as I want to brows the Local network, it does not. The OS is Windows XP.

s soon as u share a internet connection , the shared computer takes up the IP from the host computer ,thereby disconnecting it from the network

Try changing your drive letter for the computer you want to browse on the network. And you might try re-mappimg that drive make sure they're using the same protocol,also check to see you have nwlink netBIOS checked in your localarea network properties.
