Network cant recognize usernames

By Shanghai Sam ·
We moved a department to another building and network. There were initially no problems when users were first migrated to the new network. This past week when users restart or logoff the network they are unable to log back in. The error message "username cannot be found" displays. Resetting passwords and even deleting and recreating user accounts does not seem to work. I restarted the Windows 2000 server, but no luck. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Mike

Network cant recognize usernames

Is this network part of the same domain? Is there any time that they are able to log on? Did anything change in the network prior to this problem happening? Are you able to ping the domain controller?

Looks like a domain controller cannot be found. If you use DHCP, does it work? Does this new network-segment route DHCP requests?

Can you "Ping" a domain controller?
