    Network config access denied

    Locked

    by /usr ·

Logged in as admin on a DC in Win 2000 with AD, I cannot change the networking properties. It is greyed out.
    Any thoughts?

I new to this company, and I was told the domain admin password. I was not given a local password for the servers. I have tried to reset the accounts.

      What networking properties?

If you right clicked on My Computer/properties and went to Network ID. You can not change this on a DC, it even states that on that screen.

No. I am talking about the TCP/IP properties, where you set the ip and subnet. As Domain Admin, I have no access. The previous admin might have done this in an attempt to “harden” the server. The other DC (on the company LAN) is fine. I canchange it with no problem.
So, Why would I have no access to the properties? How do I undo?
