Network Configuration

by jdiehl87 . Updated 17 years, 1 month ago

Ok so here is the deal…I am trying to find out if you can configure a bridge/router/firewall to be one way directional for information over a network. Now I know I can configure the router to block all incoming request but I am trying to get it so that the network does not see the device but only sees the information that appears from it. Meaning if someone looks at the network besides the machines listed in the domain they cannot find the router and device behind it. The basic design for this would be:

*Computer1*==*Router*==Computer2+Network

My original thought was to have a computer that was on the network and install a 2nd NIC in it so I could use a cross over cable to send the information from Computer 1 through the router to Computer2 and then dump the information on a shared drive. Again my purpose is to see if I can present information on the network without letting the other devices know where it came from. Any information that can be provided would be appreciated.

Thanks
