network connection

by Scott Lowe Contributor In reply to network connection

This is the same for both - to connect 2 hubs together (unless there is a special port in which case a standard straight through cable will do)

I assume you meant RJ45 in part 2, and to create an RJ45 crossover cable which is used to directly connect 2 PCs or to connect to hubs together, the following is the pin configuration (based on EIA/TIA 568B standard):

1 (RC+) ------ (TX+) 6 (White/Orange)
2 (RC-) ------ (TX-) 3 (Orange/White)
3 (TX+) ------ (RC+) 1 (White/Green)
6 (TX-) ------ (RC-) 2 (Green/White)

Hope this helps!
