Network Design

I would like to know for the following case, what are the options for an optimal design and what are the things one needs to take care when you design a network of this nature.

The above table was generated from the data I had got from my prof, this is a part of a project where I am trying to converge Voice, data and media into one big network.

Can anyone suggest what to do in the above case when the traffic is shaired more inside the unoverstiy and moderately less from outside internet.

This example really is keeping to the 80/20 rule!

With the majority of traffic remaining within departments, and definatly within the university, put it in a switched environemnt, with a backbone up each department linking it to the universitys servers.

The convergance of voice and media won't cause much of a problem in the department switched envionment, because most calls are made within each department, and most media will be viewed in the dorms?

Therefore, voice is not a problem, and place a media server either in the dorm's switch, or in the server farm with a direct link to the dorm's switch.

Is this the sort of answer you were after?
