Network Design Software

By Legaldeath187 ·
Hello, I'm currently enrolled in college and one of our assignments is to create a networking structure for a fictional company. I'm certain I can figure out how to arrange everything and what I need during setup. What I was wondering is, are there any programs out there that are specifically designed to create a quality design. Right now I'm sorta free-handing it with PowerPoint, It looks ok at the moment but i'm quite sure it could look alot better. Thanks in advance for any ideas or thoughts.

If you are trying to show the physical layout Microsoft Office Visio works well.

Visio for network Diagramming

by Fred Mackie In reply to

There's webcasts on http://www.microsoft.com/events/series/visio.aspx that show you how, specifically:
Build and Maintain IT Infrastructure with Visio 2007

There's also a how-to on the Office Online site at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/visio/HP012075781033.aspx.

Hope this helps.
