Network drive does not connect while VPN

Ok here’s the problem, I have a Dell 8200 Inspirion running windows XP Professional in a domain that is used onsite and offsite. The user using this machine when using a Dial Up account while offsite uses VPN to access the company drives. Well after he VPNs in, all drives connect but one. In order to connect to it all he has to do is double click the drive.

I view this as a minor issue and so does the user, but it’s an annoyance since he needs to have the drive connected prior to opening outlook (specialized outlook addin).

The drive that he is trying to connect to is shared out on a Dell Network Appliance running windows 2000 server.

I’ve tried everything I can think of. Anyone have an idea?
