Network help

By bryan ·
The business I am working for is moving to a new location where the distance between the offices of the 2 parts of the business will be over 100 meters.

It needs to be a wired connection and users need to be able to access network resources in both segments. And as always managment does not want to spend lots of money.

Will your company be able to (Read: allowed) to run cable underground or across poles? If so it's as simple as running a cable, your choice, between the offices. A local construction company has there sales office and corp. offices across the street from each other, they just run fiber to connect them.

If money is an issue, and running cables is too expensive depending on township zoning laws, you may be better off getting an internet connection at each office and doing a VPN. It'll be much cheaper than a Point to Point link (another option as well).

Hope that helps.

Is this in the same building? Different buildings? Across a street?

Does your current infrastructure use fiber? If so, what type?

if there is pipes or conduit then just pull it across and connect it up.
