Did anybody have a similar experience? Where to start, how to get all things setteled down? I would really appreciate if somebody has ready technics or can direct me to the links. I bet there are some articles on TechRepublic, but honestly, just don't have time to browse. Please help.

The bast way to move a mountain is one shovel full at a time. Try to find out what is wrong and fix it. If you come up with a specific problem, post it and we'll do the best we can to help. If you need help understanding the problems look at gettingsome books. Also, you can conduct searches to obtain overviews of different areas in networking. It's usually not wise to try to solve all the issues at once. Divide and conquer. This is probably all anyone can do to help without more information. Tell us what's going on.

First - ask your users to be patient, it's going to take you some time to identify and solve all the problems. Second - go to your server, close the door to the room, if possible, for an entire day, and sit down and look at how it's set up. What operating system? Exactly what server-based programs and services are running? Where are programs and data/document files being saved? What networking protocols and clients are being used? Document everything from the exact hardware configuration of the server and any peripherals to passwords, security settings and file locations. Then, go to each user and ask them to identify what specific, ongoing problems they are having. Once you identify the issues, you can begin to seriously work on them.Use the Microsoft knowledgebase online and/or subscribe to the TechNet CDs. Get whatever help and/or documentation you can from other vendors - software and hardware. Use the Internet - a lot of vendors have a lot of useful info online. Use TechRepublic forums, too,
