    network login

    Locked

    by jimdale ·

I’ve been to hotels with wireless internet access that requires login to their network through a webpage that is specific to their hotel. I would like to setup up one like this in my home using my own webpage. How do I do this?

      BBSM

I doubt you will be able to perform this function without purchasing some enterprise grade equipment.
Most hotels will use something along the lines of Cisco BBSM (a purchased piece of hardware). I highly doubt it worth you purchasing such hardware for home use.
You should be able to do it using DHCP snooping, but I highly doubt your home grade wireless access point will be able to perform the necessary functions (unless you have a Cisco AP?).
Personally, I think you should just ensure you have an encrypted link (using WPA), and if need be, unique SSID (that is hidden), and MAC filters.
      Good luck.

This functionality can now be found in certain SOHO devices with SOHO pricing. This is just one example:
