Network Monitoring

By cowboy1618 ·
I currently have 3 computers in my house and i am in desperate need of a program that can monitor and restrict the access of 2 of the computers in the house from one main system. I use a cable connection with a network everywhere NR041 router to connect all of them to the internet. Any help is greatly appreciated thanks.

What OS are you using and why do you need a Third Party Piece of Software?

Wouldn't it just be easier not to share the Drive/Folders so that the main computer effectively becomes invisible to the other 2 computers while allowing you to access them if necessary?

Why not a proxy and a firewall? I like squid, but there are tons of proxy packages out there.

If you use squidguard it comes with a pretty good blacklist and you can create your own whitelists if you so choose.

A firewall will help block access and personal (software) firewalls on each machine can be setup to allow or deny specific machines.

There are also host files (C:/windows/system32/etc/) that can be setup to allow or deny access.
