In my organization we host a lot of three-tier client server applications using SQL Server, MTS, IIS, and Lotus Notes. To monitor our critical servers and applications we use a product called NetIQ (http://www.netiq.com).

It is very customizable and has modules managing and monitoring and reporting on all different types of servers, but it is on the expensive side.

There are many different ways you can do that.
I would try to use a network analyzer. Try
EtherPeek NX or Sniffer Pro - (I use
EtherPeek NX) Set filters on each machine
you want to watch and take a look at the times
sending and recieving. Call me if you need
