Network Outage

By jasonlfarrell ·
Every hour on the hour my internet access locks up. BT my ISP say everything is fine, they dont see any outages to the router.
I have SBS, 5 desktops, 1 laptop, BT business router and Dell Switch. My server manages DHCP for the network.
I've checked the logs on the server and router and cant see anything usual. Any help or pointers would be very welcome.

Couple Questions

by Charvell In reply to Network Outage

Does Internet access go out for all users, or just some? Can you ping other internal devices when the "internet" is out? Is your server also managing DNS for the network? Are there any scheduled jobs or automatic disk defragmentations on your server? Have you checked the switch for errors or excessive collisions?

What's handling the firewall role: ISA or the router? If it's the router, I'd try replacing it and see if the problem goes away. I'd also check the ISA logs (if ISA is running, of course).
