I am currently getting the error “Network path not found….” when joining client machines to a Win 2003 SBS R2 server.
Configuration: 3 XP Pro SP/2 fully patched machines connected to a netgear router, in turn connected to port #2 of the server, DSL modem connected to port #1 of the server. TCP/IP 4 & 6 installed on all machines, file & print sharing enabled.
The server is configured as a domain, running both DHCP and DNS. All of the computer and user objects have been added to the domain along with the shares associated with their profile/home directories.
All computers can ping self/each other/internet using both ip’s and fqdn’s, internet connection works great. TCP/IP 4 & 6 are installed, clients using and accepting the proper IP’s from the DHCP server.
When I try to join any of the client machines sbs will accept the domain/user/password and then prompt me with “Cannot find the network path…..” I have tried this with and without firewall, and even went so far as to open all 65k ports on the router (out of desperation) all for the same result.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
