Hello, I hope some one can help me! I work at a TV station, we have 80 workstations and servers total. Our network is just a standard 10/100 Ethernet. We use Nat so our internal ip address range is 192.168.83.0 – .254; there is only one subnet of 255.255.255.0. We only have hubs no switches.
We have 5 servers that for various reasons can not have virus protection software installed on them. It is very critical that they are up all the time and that they do not have viruses. They are currently getting infected across the network.
I would like to segment these 5 servers from the rest of the network, but I need them to be able to communicate with the rest of the network for internet and ftp. I don?t know if I need to put them on there own subnet, or just put a switch between them and the rest of the network. If I need a switch, should it managed or unmanaged?
HELP!!!
