OK, I have a windows network and there are 2 print servers (one attached to HP LJ via USB, another one is a HP LJ built-in) which randomly stop printing from windows (XP pro/2000 pro). I’ve tried everything – reinstalling printers, different PCL drivers, replacing the printserver with a new one and nothing helps. Except notorious “sfc /scannow” of course. As one linux comp on network is printing just fine, even after windows workstations stop, it leaves only one conclusion – something goes wrong inside windows. It is kind of annoying to “sfc” computers every week. 90% of the comps are brand new and fresh installed XP on them.
So I was wondering if anyone can point out the solution for the issue so I can avoid such stops/hangs coming? I really doubt that the least 10% of the 2000 pro machines cause some conflict with XP machines, it has to be something else…
