Network printer issue

By knagaraj ·
Hi,

we have a network printer in our domain. When ever we are giving the print out to the network printer it is showin paused - printing. Restarted the print spooler service also. But there is no use.

What could be the issue?

Thanks,
knagaraj

Hello,
Check in the printers properties wheather it is online or paused. Its paused tab must be selected so the printer has paused printing. See the setting on the terminal where it is installed.

Restart print spooler on network machine

You can try this code:

'This code will stop and start the print spooler service
'---SCRIPT CONFIGURATION---
strComputer = "."
'---END CONFIGURATION---
Set objWMIService = GetObject("winmgmts:" _
& "{impersonationLevel=impersonate}!\\" & strComputer & "\root\cimv2")
Set colServiceList = objWMIService.ExecQuery _
("Select * from Win32_Service where Name='Spooler'")
For each objService in colServiceList
errReturn = objService.StopService()
Next
Set colServiceList = objWMIService.ExecQuery _
("Select * from Win32_Service where Name='Spooler'")
For each objService in colServiceList
errReturn = objService.StartService()
Next
'WScript.Echo ("Script Complete")

However to run this script manually (as is sometimes required) you have to log in to the remote machine via terminal services and this can be slow if your machine is not fast.

Please post back if you have any more problems or questions.
