network printer mapping from workgroup

I have a user logon to the workgroup on my network and he is trying to map a network printer on the W2K advance server on the domain. During the process, he was asked for a password in order to share the resource \\computername\IPC$, I tried the admin password, but no luck. I went to Microsoft Knowledge based, it indicated the Netlogon service might not be running on the server. I checked and it was running. There are no other sources I can find to resolve this problem. Anyone can help outthere? Thanks.
