Network Problem

My network is workgroup base and i have connected 30 pc in that workgroup.Some time in all the pc shows that workgroup is not accessible.I reset the layer 3 switch and one windows 2000 server pc.after that the problem get resolved.I think that there is a problem with windows 2000 server.What would be the problem?
