I have a Laptop with windows 2000 professional and one network card installed. I like use my laptop at the office network with the static IP address and also be able to connect to the DSL at home with the dynamic IP address. I like to find a way notto change the setting each time when I am at home or office. Thank you in advance for any response.

you can have multiple harware profiles in w2k.
r-klik on my computer, go to properties then the hardware , hardware profiles tab.
make a copy of the original one. and give it a appropiate name.
When booting up w2k will ask you to select a hardware profile.
Each hardware profile can have their own setting.
this would be the easiest solution.

regards,

leopold

you can install a second nic card and set this one for or dsl connection and leave the other one as is. this also provides a fail over for a bad nic card because you can always reconfigure the good one to do what you want.
