Network Router

I installed a belkin 4 port router to connect two computers for a home network. It has worked fairly well for a couple of weeks and now for no apparent reason it loses its gateway ip address. I have to shut down both computers, reset the router, then the address is found again. This seems to happen atleast once a day now. Any ideas why this is happening?
