Some proxy products to consider include:

        Squid with DansGuardian (free)

        RhinoSoft AllegroSurf (~$30 a seat)
        Websense Express (~$50 a seat)

If you plan to use Microsoft ISA proxy server, then there are some content-filtering add-ons such as:

        GFI Web Monitor

At the high-end of things, are some enterprise solutions:

        BlueCoat WebFilter (?? $)
        WebSense Enterprise ($$$$)

It’s worth checking out – it might be what you are looking for. smoothwall runs great on older hardware. you’ll need at least 2 network cards in an older (i recommend a Pentium III or better) computer. it’s easy to set up and a breeze to use and keep up to date. I found the irc channel quite responsive also. good luck.
