Network Security

By zeevax ·
Is it possible to give a user read only access to a certain file/folder w/o being able to print/copy/email the documents? Basically, just plain read and nothing else. Any help would be great. Thanks :-)

Not a Joke ...

Believe it or not, it's not a joke ...

Seriously, we have a folder containing lots of confidential docs that supposedly accessible to all employees that should have read permission only. They should not be able to Print/Copy/SaveAs/E-Mail and do other docs stuff.

Our staff had made the folder read only though people could still re-save the files elsewhere and print from there ...

Any suggestion?

If you were in the DC area ...

Hire a MS System Eng or setup a support contract for an on call systems eng to come in and perform the technical functions you require.

The solution is simple for someone (a system Admin type) that knows their apps and how to setup the controls for user privileges.
