Network Security as a profession

By jfor441 ·
I am currently going to school for an Associates in Network Engineering. I currently hold an A+ cert. I am working on my Net+ right. The school i go to has just recently started a new Network security program. It is a bachelor's degree prog. My question is, what is the job outlook for Network Security specialists? The curriculum includes everything from cisco, mcse, C++, to network admin. I will get a copy of the course schedule so that I can post it. I'm paying a lot of money for school right now and I want to be sure that I choose the right career path. I am currently working at a helpdesk pos. right now. Thanks in advance for all of your advice.

you cannot go wrong with network security, imho. otoh, i have always had great luck getting net admin jobs. take some linux, take the cisco. i would visit each prof if i could and ask them how the students are doing getting jobs. then go for whatever interests you most.
