Network shares are lost after disconnect/reconnect of an External USB drive

Hi there,

Basically we have a server which has a USB drive for backups. There is a folder on the drive which is shared and that’s how the other servers dump their backups there. This drive is switched every Friday to go offsite and is replaced by another one.

When one drive is unplugged and the other drive plugged in, the new drive doesn’t remember its folder shares from the last time it was plugged in.

What causes this? Why aren’t the shares remembered?
