We are converting from an NT 4.0 to a Win 2000 network. We have active directory, DNS and DHCP running. Even before the conversion we have periods when our workstations would appear to lockup for ten to twenty seconds or longer. We thought that a new infrastructure (wiring, switches and servers) would resolve the problem. The delays are less frequent and less notiable but still annoying. If I watched the traffic on a workstation, it does not appear to be busy at all, yet it has periods where you can type a word and look up to see it type slowly on the screen. Any Idea where to look for the cause of our slow downs (the whole network appears to be slowwing down at the same time)?
