I recently started a new job as an assistant IT support person. The only problem is that im the only IT guy in the company.
The firms network was installed and setup by what can only be described as a cowboy and its now my job to fix it. You will see lots of posts from me in the future.
First question:
At aprox 5.30 every evening the network slows to a complete crawl. Printing and file transfers can take upwards of 20mins and this leads to year end problems with the accounts software. I have looked at scheduled tasks and AV and nothing is set to run earlier than 10pm when the place is empty. What would be best guess as to the problem?
We have one server running 2000server and a mix of xp and 2000 clients. As I said the network is very badly setup and even though I know a good bit of network theory I have F all practice. Please help.
