I have a 2TB exter HD (LaCie hard disk MAX) which I just bought because I ran out of room on my Shared Network Storage (Maxtor 300GB). The Network storage works with my NTFS laptop & recognizes the file type as such, but the info I have found on it leads me to believe that I can only use the additional storage USB port on the back with FAT32. Why would that be? Is there a way to preformat the new drive in NTFS (connected to my laptop) and then move it over to the network storage? Or can I connect the 2TB Ext HD to my router, after I use my computer to format it?
