    Network trouble

I’m having a problem with my router randomly disconnecting from my Lan. Everything that is connected wirelessly still works but I have to switch ports on my router and trouble shoot the network adapter on my hardwired computers to get it to work again. Any help would be appreciated!

If resetting the router to factory conditions doesn’t help, it seems time to try another router.

Thanks! I was kinda thinking that but I’m pretty new to networking so I wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something. Thanks for your help.

Remember I can’t check these out due to a lack of information above, so far.

      1. Update the firmware to the router.
      2. Factory reset the router, set it up again but be very plain. DO THE MINIMUM CONFIG. NO PORT FORWARDS, NOTHING FANCY.
      3. Wired? Try new factory made cables.
      4. Still down? Try running some Linux from USB to see if there’s some Windows issues. Just last week a client had issues with VPN. Uninstalled the VPN and it’s good again.
