Network Troubles with Printer

By eggdashure ·
Hey guys,

Hopefully a few quick questions. I have Xerox MFP setup on our network, it's been working great for some time. Then we had a problem with our network. It now takes almost 24 hours for a print to come through. My ping times don't show anything out of the ordinary. We are having the machine checked for internal issues, but is there anything on the network side that may be causing this issue?

Are the print jobs in the printer spooler for the duration of the 24 hrs that it isn't printing?

From the machine that you are using is the printer set up via \\server\printer. Or is the printer driver installed on the local machine?

Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling the printer drivers?

Let me know how it is going.

Must be hardware related...

I took my laptop over to the machine and ran a crossover to it directly. Still took roughly five minutes to print out a test page. It's usually instantaneous.

I also tried changing the Ethernet speed from Auto to 100 Base T (FD)(HD) 10 Base T (FD) nothing made any difference. Probably a bum NIC on the printer itself. Service is scheduled. Thanks for the ideas!
