    Network upgrade from Office 97

We currently have users accessing Office 97 across the network.

We would now like to upgrade to Office 2000 Premium with as little impact as possible.

What would be the simplest way to do so, from both the client and server perspective?

Highly pertinent links would also be apprecia

This question really belongs under the “Network Management” category where folks with thith the appropriate skills would be looking for this type of question.

I would think wherever you currently have an Office 97 component replace it (on that machine) with the Office 2000 equivalent. Then open all working objects in Office 2000 electing to convert. Very little changed but a lot was added so the conversion should be essentially invisible to your users.

If you have a big office OR critical data you might figure on making a week-end task for your upgrade.

go to Microsoft Technet. They have several well done papers on migration from Office 97 top Office 2000. What NOS are you running? Are you using SMS? Are you using ZEN works?
