Networked Gaming for Prizes and Cash

Hi all,

I am interested on views on the following two horses in this new and potentially lucrative space:

1. www.tournament.com; and
2. www.skillground.com

It seems to me that these are the two lead horses in the early race to convert, at the moment, PC gamers enthusiasm into a good revenue model from competition fees etc. The tournament.com model is based on players having or having to acquire licences for top quality games which they then play on the tournament.com network. The skillgames model has less barriers to entry since all its games are offered free however clearly if the games are not of the same quality this difference becomes much less of a competitive advantage and could be a disadvantage.

Has anyone used either site? can the pc space really compete with the console space for this type of thing?

All thoughts welcomed.
