Im trying to configure a two pc network but am having trouble. I can ping each pc’s IP address but cant ping the one it wants to see. Heres what I have done already. Please let me know if I have missed anything. My PDC has NT server 4.0 and my otherpc has Windows 98.
1) Ive configured network card 1 with IP 90.0.0.1 and sub net mask 255.0.0.0 and configured the second etwork card (on the second pc) with IP 90.0.0.2 and subnet mask 255.0.0.0. I have both cards going to my Linksys 5 port hub (not the uplink port)
2) I have only TCP/IP installed
3) I have Client for Microsoft as the binding in the properties of both network cards.
4) I have enabled “file and print sharing” and put a check mark in “I want to have others to have access to my files”.
5)The 98 pc workgroup name is the same as the NT server 4.0 pc’s domain name (since the NT pc doesnt show a workgroup name
6)Under DNS configuration both NIC have a host name.
Please let me know if I am missing anything?
