A sony vaio PCG-SR5K with w2k and a home desktop with windows Me. The Vaio has a 1394 network adaptor, the desktop has a 1394 PCI network adaptor. The Vaio can see the desktop with the smart monitor activated but can’t communicate. Things that have been tried. Smart connect switch set to standard, installed netBEUI (can’t get a ping) can’t install a TCP/IP network protocol except for the internet protocol. tried to specify an address between the 2 pc’s, Any ideas?
