Is it possible to use file sharing with multiple user accounts in an XP Pro network.
Background: I?ve got a small office and home network that use all access one of the home computers for files & printer. I?m trying to add file restrictions and did this by creating multiple user accounts on the server computer. Then using mapping I chose the ?connect using a different user name? option.
I get this error message on subsequent machines I try this on: ?Network folder already mapped? and ?multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, not allowed.?
Grrr, is this possible using XP systems?
All folders without restrictions work fine. I used ‘net use’ and deleted all other network connections.
