I just got a new ASUS motherboard and am building a new system. I have only 1 SATA WD hard drive, no IDE hard drives, and two optical drives. My question is :
Do I set up the optical drives on the primary or secondary IDE connector on the motherboard. My understanding is the primary IDE is only for bootable hard drives, is this correct? Also, is there any advantage to set up a single Sata HD in a raid configuration? I thought you always needed at least 2 identical HD to set up a raid configuration? Thanks for any advice.
