New Exchange box

We have one 2000 domain controller that runs active directory and exchange 2000. Before I’m allowed to buy a new box to house exchange, my bosses want me to provide them with proof that exchange should not be running on my domain controller. does anyone know of any good articles that will help me provide them with this information? Thanks for any suggestions.
