New Hard Drive

By england_claudio ·
I've just installed a new hard drive on my Windows XP system with the latest updates.
The problem is that instead of showing on my computer the normal "Local Disk (X:)" it shows "Virtual CD/DVD Drive(X:)". Also, the icon shown is the one that windows shows when it does not recognise the file extension. It works fine but I would like to know if it is possible to change this back to the way it should be.

Thank you

Install the drivers for it.Windows knows what the digital signature is and recognises it as a storage media , but obviously does not know its a hard drive which is why the driver is required. If this does not apply then check the chipset drivers.

Thank you James, I am going to have a look at that.
