New HD for Dell Vostro laptop

I have a Dell Vostro 1500 laptop and I am looking to upgrade the hard drive in it. I have found that it can use a SATA-300 or SATA-150 2.5″ HDD. I have found several options for this drive and now would like some feed back on the best way to procede. I am under the impression that having the SATA-300 over the SATA-150 is more important than then speed of the drive, i.e. a SATA-300 @5400rpm is better than a SATA-150 @ 7200rpm. Also, my options are Western Digital, Toshiba and Seagate all the same speed, interface and size and all within a couple of dollars of each other. I would appreciate any feedback on this matter.
