It seems that I have an opportunity to choose between two new jobs. One would be continuing the role I’m doing now, network/desktop support for a better company than am at now. This position will allow me to utilize my skills as well learn more.
Job two is more of on the managing and maintaining side. With plenty of desktop support work, but no servers because it’s done at the main office. This company pays really well and is a great company to work for. I’m also not sure how much of a challenge it will be.
I’m not sure how job two will translate to the rest of the world because this company has there own way of doing things, it’s that large and in a few years if I want to leave this position, how will it look like on a resume. And I’m also worried I may lose some of my skills by not using them as well as not keep them up to date. Although, I was thinking that maybe it’s time to step away from a support role and try something new. I’m also not that young anymore and don’t want to keep flopping around.
